Then, what happen?

This was written sometime in May, I think.

Aa.. the morning.. this couple of days I’ve been waking up early in the wee hours of the morning.. about 5-6ish.. Then guling2 on the bed with nothing to do, nobody to say morning to, I’ll reach a book, currently reading “Stories,by Neil Gaiman” It’s a collection of short stories with an overall theme of “then, what happen?” Most of the stories are a bit puzzling. There is one that I don’t get at all, and I’ve been reading it repeatedly just to make sure I didn’t went pass any hints that the author may had given. But I think that’s the whole purpose of short stories, it doesn’t drag out, and there’s rarely any background of the characters. But somehow what happened to them in that precise moment is worth reading about.

I also shared the same sentiment as Neil Gaiman. He wrote in the introduction that as he grows up, he became more of a discriminating reader, the way the story is told, and the driven narrative of it determine whether he can finish the book. This is coming from a guy who reads all sorts of fictional and non-fictional books.

And then, there's me. I use to love reading and writing. I use to adore language. Still remember when I was in Maktab, I used to spend hours in the library checking out this huge oxford thesaurus there. Writing the words down in my notepad, and then I’ll write an entire story just from a word. Yes, I am such a nerd back then. During prep hours, when I should be doing math exercises(we have lots of lots of Math that someone said that MRSM actually stands for Maktab Rendah Sains dan Matematik), l am the one at the back of my class, if not lost in the dreamworld(was also a die-hard-sleeper ;p), would be lost in the stories I read.

But that is in the past now, I rarely read anymore eventhough I still have lots of time to kill. I would blame it on the internet, the television series, movies. When it is easier to grasp something visually, going back to the world of your imagination makes me goes “owh, why bother?” Recently, when I wanted to find out about Marie Antoinette, which existence I know of from watching GG. Googled her name, and wallah there is a movie about her.

Downloaded and watched it. Although the movie is just a representative of Sofia Coppola’s idea on how Madame Antoinette life were, the cinematography was breathtaking. But Bf summed the movie up the best. “Keje die party je ke?”  and well, I think so.. I mean from the movie Miss Antoinette seems to always throw this lavish party and having fun, in a classy way ;) But I did wiki her in the end, she is also known as the last queen of France, as the royals were overthrown by the revolution. She was then prosecuted for treason and executed when she was only about 37 years old. She didn’t even have a proper marked grave. Such tragedy.

How did my rambling went from reading to Marie Antoinette?
